Despite the open military aggression of russia against Ukraine with the support of belarus, the Research Institute for Digital Transformation of Science of the public organization “International Scientific Guild” continues its work and contributes to the preservation and development of the Ukrainian scientific environment.
We cooperate with the international scientific community, excluding russia and belarus.

The Department of Epistemology of Science Transformation is a structural subdivision of the Research Institute. In its activities, the department is guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific and Technical Activities," resolutions and instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, other legislative and normative acts, the Statute of the Institute,

orders of the Institute's Director, etc.

Main tasks of the Department

  1. Conducting interdisciplinary research into the phenomena of digital transformation of science, learning, and epistemology in a digital environment.
  2. Determining the philosophical, anthropological, social, ethical, and methodological consequences of implementing digital technologies in scientific activities and academic communication.
  3. Analyzing digital platforms, tools, and models of scientific interaction with the aim of identifying their impact on the formation, circulation, and legitimation of scientific knowledge and forming an ethical framework for scientific activity in the digital space.

Division for the Epistemology of

Digital Knowledge

Research into fundamental changes in the nature of scientific cognition, methods, and structure of knowledge in the digital age. Analysis of the transformation's impact on scientific rationality, authorship, validity, open science, and machine knowledge.

Meta-Anthropology of Digital

Science Division

Conducting an analysis of the digital environment's influence on the transformation of the roles, functions, and practices of the scientist, lecturer, and student. Forming a social and ethical framework for the activity of scientific subjects.

Applied Analytics of Digital

Science Division

Conducting an analysis of the effectiveness of digital tools, platforms, and models of scientific communication. Evaluating the dynamics of citation, indexing, digital metrics, and open repositories to increase scientific effectiveness.

Main Focus Areas

  • Research into digital epistemologies and models of scientific cognition in online and hybrid environments.
  • Analysis of technosocial systems and Artificial Intelligence (AI): Critical analysis of systems regulating the interaction between researchers, platforms, algorithms, and communities, with a special focus on the impact of generative Artificial Intelligence on the process of creating and legitimizing scientific knowledge.
  • Study of Public Science and the mechanisms of its implementation within the digital infrastructure, particularly considering Open Data.
  • Bibliometric and scientometric analysis of tools for evaluating scientific activity.
  • Platform studies — critical analysis of the functioning of scientific platforms, aggregators, and search engines.
  • Study of the influence of digital technologies on the educational process, student science, and the formation of epistemological competence and academic identity.
  • Conducting expert and analytical studies regarding the risks, limitations, and potential of digitalization in the science system, including the development of an ethical framework for activities in the digital space.
