The Patent and Licensing Department is a structural subdivision of the Research Institute for Digital Transformation of Science. In its activities, the department is guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific and Technical Activities," resolutions and instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, other legislative and normative acts, the Statute of the Institute, orders of the Institute's Director, etc.
Main tasks of the Department
- Provision of support and assistance in the registration of intellectual property objects: digital inventions, software solutions, utility models, industrial designs, computer programs and databases, confidential information, etc., as well as ensuring the commercialization of scientific developments.
- Legal support for licensing agreements, contracts for the transfer of rights to intellectual property objects, and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) with external partners.
- Ensuring the protection of the Institute's intellectual property rights in case of their infringement (claim and lawsuit work).

Legal Division
Ensuring the legal protection of the Institute's intellectual property objects (inventions, software solutions, databases, trade secrets, etc.), as well as adherence to the legislation of Ukraine and foreign countries in this field
Registration Division
Registration of research and development works, registration of intellectual property objects, ensuring the state registration of scientific topics, organization of reporting in the established procedure
Main Focus Areas
- Ensuring the state registration of scientific topics and research and development (R&D) works, as well as organizing the submission of all necessary reports (state, departmental, patent, and licensing) after the completion of stages and works.
- Implementing organizational and methodological guidance for invention, patent and licensing work, and work with intellectual property (IP) objects at the Institute.
- Ensuring the full cycle of legal protection and creation of intellectual property objects (inventions, software, databases, trade secrets, etc.), including filing applications and protecting the priority of research results.
- Adherence to the norms of the legislation of Ukraine and foreign countries in the sphere of intellectual property and patent and licensing activities.
- Ensuring the protection of the intellectual property and copyright of researchers as a basis for strengthening and developing scientific potential.
- Providing patent and licensing support for scientific activities in accordance with state and international norms and standards.
- Providing scientific and technical information and consultations on all issues related to invention, patent and licensing work, and intellectual property objects.
